5 Most Isolated Islands on the Planet
You haven’t heard of at least 3 of them
We’re all living in our modern-day cities and towns and it’s hard to imagine that there are places without any proper connection to the real world. Places in the middle of nowhere that have existed for decades
Here are 5 of the most isolated places in the world.
1. Faroe Islands — Denmark
The Faroe Islands is a small group of Islands north of the United Kingdom and is owned by Denmark.
Faroer has a rough climate, including much rain and many storms all around the year — but it won’t be as cold as you would expect it to be. The average temperature barely goes below 0 degrees Celcius.
As mentioned above, it’s an island group consisting of 18 islands in total with each of them possibly being isolated from the other.
We don’t precisely know when the first people set foot on the islands, but it’s likely that the Vikings have lived on the islands as one of the first civilizations.
Many of the islands aren’t accessible by road from the main island and need to be traveled by helicopter — that wasn't possible before 50 years ago so people had to go by boat and hike to the top of the island.
