A while ago, I worked as a freelance web developer and I got a client (my first one by the way) and he wanted a website for his company.

But he was kinda vague in communicating his business details (VAT no, etc…) and when the website was finished I sent him an invoice.

Then he responded with: “I’ll pay it next week”, which was fine since I set an expiration date of 14 days.

But he never paid me telling me after a month that “we never agreed on anything”.

So now I charge people 50% upfront.

Ps. I took his website down.
