Did Mussolini kill Giacomo Matteotti?

On the 10th of June, this Italian socialist politician was kidnapped and murdered after he accused the fascists of committing election fraud. Matteotti was born to a wealthy family in Veneto.

He obtained a law degree from the University of Bologna and was an activist in the socialist movement and the Italian Socialist Party from an early age.

He opposed Italy’s participation in World War I and was therefore interned in Sicily during this war.

Matteotti’s Political Role

In 1892, Filippo Turati founded the Socialist Party in Italy. Other intellectuals were somewhat inconsequential in this case, save from Filippo Turati and Anna Kulischov, who played crucial roles in founding the Italian Socialist Party in 1892.

They were reformists who believed that socialism would emerge over time, mostly via political participation in the Italian Parliament, labor organizations, and education. They advocated their ideas via their writings.
