I Have Quit Talking About Politics at Family Meetings, Here’s Why

This is why I stopped talking about it

When we’re kids, we don’t see much of the world in terms of government. We only see what our imagination allows us. Unfortunately, that changes over time and we start to see the world for it.

We get interested in people, opinions, and yes: politics.

It’s a thing then once you’ve grown up, you talk about politics at parties, birthdays, you name it.

Can we just stop that?

I try to avoid the theme as much as I can, although it’s difficult these days — politics are all around us and there’s no escaping. But at least try to not let it dominate your life.

When I say politics I mean the decisions politicians make, those are the real bad guys.

You Can’t Make a Change

As kids, we were always told that everybody could make a change and that if you work hard enough for something — that it would eventually work out for you.

In some cases this is true, but I don’t believe in it regarding politics.

The people there have been there for ages and won’t just suddenly leave their comfy seats of power.
