It’s not good to worry about politics
A short note on this week’s events.
What a week for politics.
In one week, Joe Biden had a disastrous debate with Donald Trump, France shifted all the way to the right/left (idk anymore), Rishi Sunak resigned as Prime Minister of the UK after losing the elections, and the Netherlands installed a far-right new government.
My opinion? I don’t really care.
It might make me insensitive, but I’ve decided to choose for myself, a Stoic habit that doesn’t harm anybody.
Why would you care?
It’s all outside of your control. You don’t win anything by worrying about politics. The only power you have is to vote.
But besides that, none.
In the Netherlands, on the 22nd of November 2023, the Party for Freedom was elected with 37 (/150) in the Dutch parliament and the entire country was in shock.
It’s not my party or political preference, but it didn’t matter.
I voted for something else, but the majority of the people in my country didn’t, that’s my duty fulfilled.
The red line in this article is that we worry a lot about things without being able to change stuff.
