Our first day in Berlin

Failing trains, expensive breakfast, and delicious bratwurst.

We’re in Berlin.

On Tuesday we arrived at the center of the city by train. After traveling for more than 10 hours we’re finally here.

We were supposed to take a direct train from Amersfoort Central Station in the Netherlands to Berlin Central but the Deutsche Bahn thought otherwise.

They kicked all passengers out in Hannover because of technical difficulties and had to find another train to Berlin. Luckily there was one coming that had better comfort and I was able to get a seat reservation for it. (most people didn’t)

1.5 hours later we arrived in Berlin and got something to eat.

Our accommodation isn’t in the center of the city but a little to the east. We have to take a tram of around 45 minutes to get to it.

It’s a bit long but fine if it isn’t full.

Yesterday we went to explore the city.

We bought a 24-hour public transport ticket for the Berlin AB zones, which cost around €10.
