There should be more diversity.

The midterms are almost over.

Ballots are still being counted but the Republicans seem to have won the majority in the House and have the amount of State Governors.

Interesting is the number of seats Senators are going to be getting.

Two seats have already been taken in by other parties, which means it’s much more difficult to gain a majority in the Senate for either party.

This is what made me realize how messed up this ‘Two-Party’ system is.

More In-Detail

We often refer to the U.S. political landscape as a ‘Two-Party’ system, but this means that the political landscape is dominated by two parties instead of solely accepting two parties.

We know the one-party system from the Communist People's Republic of China, but this is an actual forced one-party system.

In the United States, it’s possible to run as an independent candidate or to launch a new party. But the changes are that you won’t get far. Parties such as the Dems & Reps are so big with millions of funding that you can’t beat them.
